AN  INFORMATIVE  QUIZ : know the real Morris Township Issues

Ans:        Five votes by the members of the Township Committee. They voted unanimously to collect only a third of the Open Space Tax and also voted to use a large portion of that collection for non-open space purposes. Is this the will of the people?

Q4:       How many resolutions can the Morris Township Committee pass in one vote?

Ans:      All of them. They pass multiple resolutions in one vote. All resolutions get passed at the same time.

Q5:      By How many Morris Township Committee members have voted “no” on any of the resolutions and ordinances proposed in the past 10 years?

Ans:        None! All resolutions and ordinances of Morris Township are approved unanimously-- always.  The Township Clerk does not even keep a record of the vote, explaining that all is decided in Committee.

Q6:       Where does New Jersey Monthly magazine (Monmouth University Polling Institute) rank Morris Township for quality of life among New Jersey’s 566 municipalities?

Ans:   85% of 2006 appointees to committees, boards or commissions are from one political party

Ans:      1973

Q9:       For how many of the last 10 years has the Committee been comprised of the same five people?

Ans:      All 10years. There has been no new point of view added to the Committee in the last 10 years.

Q10:      How many voters elected the last 10 Township Mayors?

Ans:        Five. The people don’t elect the mayor – the Township Committee does.  The same five people have been electing each other mayor annually for the past 10 years.  This is why it is so important to have         change on the Township Committee.
